Meet the West Region Program Manager:

Dr. Chandra Wade

Who is Dr. Chandra Wade? I am a native of Memphis, the youngest of three siblings, an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Psi Sigma Zeta Germantown Graduate Chapter in Germantown, TN, Gamma Phi Delta Epsilon Omicron Chapter and a member of the American Women Business Association. I hold a Doctorate in Business Administration with a Specialization in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University in Phoenix, Arizona. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Amridge University in Montgomery, Alabama. I have also served as a Family Connector with Agape Children and Family Services and as an Elderly Abuse Advocate for Coordinated Response to Elder Abuse with the Shelby County Crime Victims Center in Memphis, TN.

What do you love about your community? Memphis Tennessee is unique. We have a rich history and a lot of celebrities have started their careers in our great city. We may be divided on some issues, but we come together as a community.

Why did you want to be a Regional Program Manager? I am passionate about my chosen career field because of the principles and values as a Regional Program Manager that connect with my own values. I have a strong sensitivity and deep empathy for individuals and families who are among minority groups, and marginalized.

Why should individuals become a Community Health Worker in your region? Being a CHW (Community Health Worker) in West Tennessee allows them the chance to impact their community. It will allow them to utilize their skills to serve the underserved and overlooked population to help them to receive the services they need.

Regenia Dowell

Who is Regenia Dowell? I was able to travel around the world and never leave Memphis. During my career as a Research Scientist, I met people from other countries and learned about their culture and country.

What do you love about your community? I love the people in my community. They want to improve the conditions for everyone living in the community.

Why did you become a Community Health Worker? I became a Community Health Worker to help bring resources and information so people in my community will be able to live a better quality of life.

What would you tell individuals thinking about becoming a Community Health Worker? I would tell people that becoming a Community Health worker is a job that you will enjoy because you are helping others. The hours are flexible, and you are able to met people at events and share information that will help them with mental health, chronic diseases, and public health information.
