Who is Rafael Santiago? I owe my identity to the incredible individuals who have greatly impacted my life. Their influence has shaped me into the person I am today. In turn, I aspire to replicate their greatness by imparting valuable knowledge to others. My goal is to reach out and positively impact as many lives as I can, leaving a lasting and beneficial impression on each person I encounter.

What do you love about your community? Diversity is unstoppable.

Why did you want to be a Regional Program Manager? Because communities change, and I wish to be a member that shows passion for positive change.

Why should individuals become a Community Health Worker in your region? East and Southeast will benefit from the service of those who can not only see the need but also take action in the process.

Community Health Worker Spotlight: Kimberly Evans

Who is Kimberly Evans? In my career, I would describe myself as being a service to people.

What do you love about your community? The community I live in is very small but diverse. My community has an eagerness to change to make it better!

Why did you become a Community Health Worker? I wanted to have a clearer understanding of what a Community Health Worker (CHW) is because I want to excel in this new position. I have not regretted the knowledge and the resources provided at all! Being a CHW has changed the way I think and deliver care to the community!

What would you tell individuals thinking about becoming a Community Health Worker? We are “baby social workers who provide a positive service to help the community become better with knowledge and understanding! Being a CHW is rewarding even if you touch only one person! With the verbal engagement, you have laid the foundation work of making lives better.
